Heli Jürgenson
Heli Jürgenson has been the conductor of the Tallinn Chamber Choir since 2019. She studied choral conducting at the Georg Ots Tallinn Music School and the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, teaching choir conducting at the former since 1992.
Additionally, Heli has conducted the Mixed Choir of Estonian Society since its establishment in 1993 and has served as the choir master for the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir since 2012.
She is an esteemed conductor at Estonian Song Celebrations, having been an artistic director of the Finnish-Estonian Song Festival and the Festival of Sacred Music multiple times. In 2013, Heli was awarded the Scholarship of Gustav Ernesaks Foundation and earned the title of Choir Conductor of the Year from the Estonian Choral Society. In 2017, she was elected as the artistic director and conductor of the 12th Youth Song Celebration ‘Here I’ll Stay’ in Estonia.
Heli Jürgenson serves as the chairwoman of the Estonian Choral Conductors Association and is a member of the board of the Estonian Choral Association. In 2020, the President of the Republic of Estonia conferred upon her the Order of Merit of the White Star, 4th Class.
Furthermore, Heli was elected by the Estonian Song and Dance Celebration Foundation to assume the role of artistic director for the 28th Song Celebration in 2025.
Kärolin Tuisk
Kärolin Tuisk assumed the role of assistant conductor of the Tallinn Chamber Choir in January 2021.
She initiated her music studies at Põlva Music School, focusing on playing the violin. In 2016, she graduated with honors from the Heino Eller Tartu Music College, specializing in conducting under the guidance of Lauri Breede. In the same spring, she secured the second place in a competition featuring conductors from three colleges. Kärolin earned her master’s degree with honors in conducting from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in spring 2021, supervised by Professor Hirvo Surva. In 2020, she furthered her studies at the Royal College of Music in Sweden in the conducting class led by Professor Fredrik Malmberg. Kärolin has also participated in master courses by Risto Joost, Toomas Kapten, and Zoltan Pad.
Beyond her role with the Tallinn Chamber Choir, Kärolin Tuisk has served as the leading conductor of Luuska Lauluühing in Tartu. Since 2015, she has been involved as a singer, choirmaster, and conductor with the chamber choir E STuudio. From 2017 to 2021, Kärolin held the position of choirmaster and assistant conductor at the Veronika Portsmuth Choral Academy. Between 2018 and 2021, she conducted the training choirs Primo and Secundo of the Tallinn Boys Choir. Alongside her conducting responsibilities, Kärolin is also a music teacher at Viimsi Gümnaasium.
